Reducing back pain and preventing injury. Pilates improves core strength, increases blood flow, enhances range of motion and helps reduce the waistline. Yin Yoga
A style of yoga that targets the connective tissue to release long held tension and toxins. More specifically the ligaments and tendons that connect the muscles to bone and bone to bone. Based on the principles of Chinese medicine, Yin Yoga is geared toward opening the energy lines (chi, prana) of the body to stimulate and detox the liver, spleen, bladder and other organs through a series of complimentary postures. Poses are held passively for long periods (3-5 minutes minimally) in order to safely enable opening of the body and mind. Yin is a wonderful complement to any strong physical regimen or to jump start you towards health and wellness.
Hot Power Yoga
Heating the body up is one of the best ways to increase flexibility and bloodfow. Our room is heated warmer than our other rooms but does not exceed 90 degrees as we do not want students to overexert themselves as their bodies open up with the heat. You can expect to hold postures longer while also being challenged to achieve more complex postures.
Intro To Yoga Basics
This class is ideal for those who are new to yoga, who want to learn the basics of pranayama (breathing) and asana (postures), or for students who have been practicing for awhile & want to deepen their attention to breath and alignment through a challenging but gentle flow. Through regular attendance students tend to experience greater flexibility, improved circulation, reduced pain in muscles and joints, and a sense of relaxation that carries into other areas of their lives.
