Fuller Yoga has designed a dedicated class just for you and your girl(s). Take an afternoon to put down the cell phone and turn off Facebook and deepen the mother-daughter bond before they enter adulthood. Spend an afternoon enjoying quality time with your daughter (s) by learning yoga postures and breathing techniques together that can help both of you when challenges arise.
This workshop will enhance communication skills and deepen your trust for each other in a fun-filled and enjoyable way through playful yoga sequences that involve strength balance and mutual support. This is an All Levels workshop for mothers and daughters ages 8 and up.

This class offers a fun and exciting approach to kids yoga. Kids Yoga is an integrated class of yoga poses using guides from animals and nature, energetic movement games, flowing yoga dance, and calming relaxation. Students share in self-expression, improve upon flexibility and balance, and enhance coordination. We increase our focus and center the body and mind through yoga and dance. Kids Yoga is a nice blend of energy releasing activities and calming mindful opportunities to make participants feel healthy and strong. All Kids Yoga classes focus on each individual person in a friendly noncompetitive environment where everyone is encouraged to do their best and friends are made.

With compassionate attention to each individual, mindfulness to both others and themselves this class for "Tweens" will give participants the tools to grow through these challenging years. Students learn how to let go of stress from things like academics, family, and friendships and balance themselves through the practice of yoga, including asanas (physical postures) pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels and will teach healthy living techniques. For athletes or dancers wanting to increase stamina and flexibility or for those looking for a nonjudgmental form of exercise in a peaceful environment yoga is the perfect activity for everybody! Please bring a journal or notebook to class.

Spend the morning learning how yoga can help you know and support your unique spine. Using principles of alignment from the Iyengar tradition, Emily Gould uses her experiential knowledge of scoliosis and her training with New York's most skilled teachers of yoga for scoliosis to help students get to know their backs and develop a practice that can help stabilize their curve patterns. In this workshop, we'll learn the basics of spinal anatomy and experience a sequence designed to bring awareness, length and strength to the spine. Students will go home with a handout containing a simple sequence they can practice at home. Appropriate for students ages 9-16, no yoga experience required.
Please wear comfortable, non-baggy clothes you can move around in easily.
Emily Gould began practicing Iyengar yoga soon after being diagnosed with scoliosis as a teenager and has been studying with Deborah Wolk for nine years. In 2008 she completed Alison West's 200-hour Yoga Union teacher training. She has since continued to study with both Alison and Deborah and has assisted Deborah's backcare class for 2 years. Emily also studied with Elise Miller and took her Yoga For Scoliosis teacher training and is the faculty instructor for Yoga Union Center's Yoga & Scoliosis for Teens & Tweens classes.

As much as 10% of the adult population suffers from some degree of functional (learned) or idiopathic (structural) spinal curvature, but few of us do anything to combat the worsening of our scoliosis, which can progress as we age. The goal of yoga for scoliosis is to bring awareness, using breathing techniques and mind-body centering, to the back body, and to use asana practice to lengthen and strengthen the muscles that support the spine. The first hour of our workshop will include an overview of spinal anatomy and a practice of standing poses. The workshop will conclude with supported supine poses designed to release the curve patterns. Appropriate for all ages and levels of yoga practice. Please wear comfortable, non-baggy clothes you can move around in easily.
